Presidential Priorities

Other than the families of our precious soldiers, nobody cares for them as much as their commanders and their adopted brothers in arms. So naturally when a military leader requests more troops be sent to the battlefield, it’s a decision he makes with a great deal of angst and regret. But it is a decision he has made in order to preserve lives and to keep, or get, the upper hand on our enemies. It’s a request that should be given top priority by the Commander-In Chief.

General McChrystal sent a request to our “so called” Commander- In-Chief back in June. So did Obama immediately schedule a meeting with General McChrystal? No. It appears that instead, the request has been largely ignored by Mr. Obama. Our president has been focusing his concentration on matters of higher urgency, such as pushing a government takeover of healthcare, appearing on the David Letterman Show and traveling to Copenhagen to lobby for Chicago to get the 2016 Olympic Games.

The good general refused to be ignored so he went public with his request and the fact that Mr. Obama has not taken action on the request. Finally, after being put on the spot and publicly embarrassed, the president did take action. He sent a message to the General to shut his mouth and do not speak publicly about this issue.

Meanwhile, as the reports of our soldiers being killed in action are increasing every week, and as the situation is getting more and more critical in the theatre of operations, this president has decided that it would be a good time to begin re-evaluating our strategy in Afghanistan. Gee, why waste time thinking about that stuff ahead of time. Let’s wait until we start getting our butts kicked, then we will hold that posture while we take our time deliberating about it. Maybee he just needs to get permission from CodePink.

What a disgrace this is. Our boys are losing control of a bad situation and Obama has reservations about sending in reinforcements. He prefers to pursue unconstitutional activities while resisting one of his chief duties.

I have a great deal of respect and gratitude for our men and women in uniform and I have always tried to have reverence for the president regardless of his party. Right now, I could not have more contempt for this Jerk as he abandons our troops on the battlefield.
